Notes for Lab 4 posted

Hello everyone,

The two sets of notes for Lab 4 have been posted. The Lab notes this week are kind of long. Please read ahead if possible and bring a copy of the new assignment (Lab 4) to follow along in lab or when you view the recording.

Does anyone miss SAS? I am preparing some activities for SAS in case we have extra time. Otherwise, I will post the programs on WebCt. You can play with them when you have some time to kill o:).

Best regards,

  1. Hi Trang
I've been working with a database of my own imported from an Excell sheet. I'm able to import the data and to work with them, but apparently I'm not creating a SAS database with it. So when I restart the program I need to import again the data. Could you please give me a hand to create the genuine SAS file after import?
    Thanks

I don't quite understand what exactly do you mean in question 3 b):
    (b) Draw the sampling distribution of mean Verbal SAT scores, under H0 : μx = 600. Label the value of the mean of the sampling distribution under H0, as well as the lower and upper values of Verbal SAT corresponding to the lower and upper values of the calculated test statistics. Also indicate the probabilities under H0 : μx = 600 of sample mean SAT scores being more extreme than the lower or upper values of the calculated test statistics.

Would you be so kind as to explain me in other words what are you asking for?

Do you want us to draw the bell shaped curve?

When you say "the calculated test statistics" do you refer to the value t obtained in part a) of this exercise?

    Thanks
