Dear students,
As a student posted her comment on the grading issue on this blog, I decided to use this forum to write about this matter.
Over the last four weeks, Dr. Shelley and I have received quite a few questions regarding grades, posting of grades and related issues. We usually responded by asking you to send your inquiries to Amy directly. However, we are also aware that many of you have continued to experience a "silent treatment" from Amy. Please do not feel that you are alone. We too experience the same treatment. Quite a few of my email messages to her went unanswered.
My suggestion for you at this point is to keep trying. Include Dr. Shelley and me in the email if you like. If your questions are not resolved or an issue still persists, please keep us informed. We will try to work with Amy to bring more communication and "visibility" either on-line or off-line.
Sincerely,
Thank you Trang
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I suggested Amy to send a quick reply e-mail to confirm she has received the assignments asap. She accepted the proposal. She must understand that for some of us following the course off campus it is important to feel connected. Inititatives like your blog or the chat help us feeling closer. But, on the other hand, if somebody doesn't show up as could be the case for Amy, it leads to uncertainty.
Thanks for your comments Mr. Callen. That was a good proposal you made. We continue to seek ways to improve our communication and service to our students.

ReplyDeleteHello, Trang,
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Amy can finish correcting the assignments earlier. Because your office hours are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, if she could give them back to us before Tuesdays, we would find problems on the old assignments, then go to ask you on Tuesdays.
Otherwise, if the period is too long, I can not review it in time, and I would kind of forget what I want to ask.
