How about doing things backwards? Assume you know the sample size which you obtained from the half-width. Plug it in step 2 and compare the resulting confidence interval to yours.
Very useful, but yeah I wish there were interchangeable parts, say we are looking for a half-width. In this model we would have to assume a value to start and then eventually find our answer.
Couldn't really figure out how to check the population size questions such as 1c. Any ideas?
