Standard Deviation Man

I have received quite a few questions on how to find the Standard Deviation (SD). Here is the link to a fun "refresher course" on SD.

  1. This is a very short and fun movie to watch, only 8-9 minutes long. I encourage everyone to watch and write comment about it.

  2. The video was humorous in its attempt to explain standard deviation, but I agree with previous posts that the lecture Dr. Shelly gave was more useful. It is interesting that this video was found on YouTube however, and hopefully, in future I can find an even more helpful video for future class topics.

While the basic information in the video was informative and helpful as a brief review, I would benefit more from information regarding finding probabilities such as the last two questions on Lab 1. I hope I figured it out, but we will see!

  3. I just want to say, I will never forget when we had to use the old camcorders to produces excellent looking SD videos. Informative but not ultimately helpful in explaining the standard deviation, the lab did a better job of explaining.
I do love what YouTube has done to better inform our society on ways of learning things. I would like to now see something on non-parameteric analysis (just kidding)!
